I could see this being part of it. Managing people surely has a bit of performance to it, and the physical office is a stage. Similarly, I quite like working from home and walking around the house (getting drinks/snacks/etc) looking at the garden. That's all something I've worked for - things I planted or bought or paid off - and it's comforting to see it.
