Right, but what specific rules are in conflict between the Polish constitution and the EU law? Religion, equality, immigration, abortion, taxes, property ownership, ingredients in beer?
- detaro 5y agoThe main point of contention is independence of the justice system. EU says Polish law gives the government too much power over justices and that this violates EU treaties about the EU justice system, which require an independent judiciary. Poland says that its constitution doesn't allow the EU to have that power over Poland. (specifically the trigger is some some new-ish committee that is allowed to remove justices from office etc.)
