Rust in itself is easier to understand and reason about than the equivalent kernel C code in my experience. The actual cognitive cost does not come from Rust itself, but from mixing the two memory models and interop between them, IME and is probably a bad idea in general. Should just boil the ocean and write the entire LK with Rust only.
