- catlikesshrimp 5y agoAm I reading the conclussion correctly? It is not worth to rise minimum wages because people aren't more likely to work, UBI wouldn't result in people quitting their job, and no amount of immigration will affect salaries. How is this worth a Nobel? Evidence is weak, you can't extrapolate it to other latitudes, and scope is very reduced. People Do stop working when they have a minimum income, in some populations: immigrants rigging benefits, like having many children and not having to work; In the country I live, many people are content with earning just enough to live, and if they earn more than that, they quit their job until they are starving again, this is not an exageration.
