When large claims like this are made, I often compare them against my personal experience. When they disagree, I do bias towards my experience and use the skepticism to dig deeper in to the result in search for the nuance.
However, for this discussion, my personal experience is surprisingly in line. I have worked with many colleagues whose primary decision to not have children is a result of worry over climate change. I have seen this response break up multiple marriages, motivate people to quit careers, and sprial in to depression.
