Considered why there's no such serious issue with consumer goods in the EU...and remembered the woes when the EU stepped in and said how the truck drivers are going to be paid (roughly - if delivering to another country, at least equal than local drivers!) and how many hours they could work. And of course everybody hated these evil socialist bureaucrats. But now we don't have a shortage of drivers because the system wasn't optimized out to the brink. No idea if it's going to save us long term, or if there aren't other factors....just an idle thought.
