Hmm. The article is a fluff piece about not being an asshole. (And not leading like Stalin i.e getting rid of everyone that brings any negative news) That being said, the author is a consultant for large cap corporations with rigid cost structures and well defined business plans. I mention this because this forum is primarily startup focused. You always need some amount of err, "hopium" to struggle through the initial phases. Accepting reality isn't necessarily in your best interests. Businesses have different life cycles, the growth phase compared to the mature/sunsetting phase of a business are vastly different. The author is a consultant that has worked primarily on the latter.
