  Seconded. Intoxicants wont solve many problems, but there's times when just postponing them for a bit is perfectly valid.

    Alcohol should be for enjoyment, not for escaping sorrow or fighting frustration... that can lead to alcoholism.

  This is dangerous, from experience. Maybe bring a bottle and share a glass, but don't leave the bottle behind - and the benefit to the grieving is going to be the presence, not the alcohol.
