I dislike Facebook, and do not use it other than to communicate with older family occasionally.
However, from what I can tell, if Facebook stopped existing tomorrow whatever social media site came in to populatrity in its absence would become as full of misinformation, as toxic, as echo chamber-y, as Facebook
- c7DJTLrn 5y agoReddit's already there unfortunately. The front page is a toxic echo chamber.
- ergocoder 5y agoThe other day there was a post about Zuck didn't open the car door by himself, and it was seen as entitled. There was a private security employee chiming in that it was the private security's policy. But nobody cares about the truth. The amount of bullying and hate on Zuck is just insane.
- browningstreet 5y agoFacebook has reached a scale and ubiquity that its cohorts have not. A replacement may not either. I’ll take that.
