- tejohnso 5y agoMade me feel like I was reading something AI generated. " Though dollars keep squads afloat, dialing up the financial infrastructure too soon can kill the vibe. The squad economy primarily yields non-monetary forms of value. SQUAD WEALTH is a rate of 5 memes per day, it's the e-girls vacation, the TikToker hype house, the empty church your crew rented upstate. SQUAD WEALTH is when the Discord is popping off and it brings you more joy than a 70-hour-week hustle ever could. Millennials all want to quit their jobs and start venture-funded companies, squads are already on some other shit. "
- krona 5y agoA squad can be a small 'company' of people without any legal status per-se. Like a bunch of devs sharing a flat who got a contract to fix a website. Group identity + shared space + common purpose.
- zemvpferreira 5y agoBut, mainly on the internet. That's what differentiates squads today from squads a generation ago - sharing vibes with people you might not have ever seen.
- duggan 5y agoI think that's almost the point; it's a kind of youth culture manifesto. Something like like A Declaration of Independence of Cyberspace[1]. 1: https://www.eff.org/cyberspace-independence https://www.eff.org/cyberspace-independence
