Is something a "joke" so long as it is said during a stand-up routine? Because I don't believe declaring yourself a member of "team TERF" (trans-exclusionary radical feminist) expressly in line with J.K. Rowling is much of a "joke." It's like saying "if that makes me a segregationist, call me George Wallace." It sounds more like an unambiguous statement that you align with opponents of trans existence.
- andyxor 5y agonot encouraging delusions of mentally ill is not about “opposing their existence”, these people need help. “Gender Dysphoria” is still considered a psychiatric disorder and (arguably) should be treated as such. I think Chappelle’ jokes oppose the “celebration” of mental illness that somehow became the new normal recently, that one is not allowed to speak against.
