British Pet Massacre
- tdeck 5y agoThis is one where it's worth reading the whole article, since the impression I got from the first line (the government made people kill their pets) turned out not to be the real story.
- ApolloFortyNine 5y agoWow, reading the article, it mentions many times that it was actually the civilians bringing them willingly, before rationing had even begun. That's just an unimaginable level of responsibility to me, no doubt many of these people loved their pets as much as we did, but they chose the humane method over being forced to watch them starve (or take food away from other humans).
- brokensegue 5y agoYeah it feels remarkable compared to today. People aren't even willing to wear a mask today. No way would they kill their pet.
- b3nji 5y agoPeople follow a lot of misinformation from the.media, and government nowadays, I wouldn't be at all surprised if this situation described might repeat in the coming months.
- short12 5y agoThat seems like a wildly irresponsible pet owner to begin with
