I don't think you can make that kind of broad pronouncement here, lest your next step be to play classical music at plants to demonstrate some kind of preconceived superiority right? For me it feels more about familiarity. If I already have the lyrics memorized then it does not feel distracting whereas unfamiliar music can draw my focus.
