It's quite easy to produce a counterexample to your claim. Harvey Weinstein immediately comes to mind. It was complaining that drew attention to his abuses and ultimately led to his conviction.

- pas 5y agoWomen equality, #MeToo, sexual consent issues are all pretty much at the forefront of today's cultural issues. Harvey was an open and shut case, but don't forget the Supreme Court justice Brett Kavanaugh, or Andrew Cuomo, Louis CK, etc. (Some weather the accusation (s) some don't.)
