  English is fun!!! What sounds clear to one person can be confusing to another. Were you implying surprise that the $22 price was lower than they were before the recent craziness or that the price was nearly double the original price. That's what I was attempting to get to in my original question. I didn't get ask explicitly, as I was hoping to get there on my own. However, my simple asking of a question to help me understand caused other readers to suggest I was wandering too far from subject. Pfft to them anyways.
