I would hazard to add 'Dinosaurs' to this, a 90s animatronics show about dinosaurs playing out a (then) modern family comedy/drama that literally ended in the Cretaceous–Paleogene extinction event with the meteor hitting the Yucatan, the last episode ending with the audience watching the ensuing artificial winter caused by the ash blocking out the sun. We would hail such an ending as subversive today, though I was too young then to even think of considering how adults interpreted that ending.
But depicting the modern American family of the late 80s/early 90s as literal dinosaurs then wiping them out at the end is pretty damn good even it wasn't well-received.
> Decadence is when you deal with a spiraling crime rate and the post-1960s urban collapse through a combination of mass incarceration, mass surveillance, high abortion rates in poor communities and the lure of virtual entertainments to keep kids off the street.
Fascinatingly enough, TikTok tags/trends in the pre-teen/teen range are pushing kids back outside to commit unethical acts:
* #deviviouslick - vandalizing/stealing school property
* #blackoutchallenge - where kids find ways to hold their breath until they pass out, sometimes involving hanging
* #lugnutchallenge - where kids unloosen the lug nuts on someone's car
* #malaikatmaut - jump in front of a moving car
