Ask HN: Do USB-C cables without data channel exist?
Before USB-C there were many USB-cables that had no data-connection. This can be a security feature against hardware attacks.
I've searched for USB-C without data but I haven't found anything yet.
One could block D+/- on a USB-A to USB-C cable of course, but I wonder if commercially available USB-C to USB-C cables don't exist at all.
An adapter for public charging etc. would be a nice gadget for next christmas.
Go nuts, product creators! :D
- timonoko 5y agoI have some USB-C "charging cable". I bought it because it was 2 meters long. But it does not do 2 Amps. I assume this is because power charging happens only after some data exchange between partners.
