Windows 11 System Requirements
- k12sosse 5y agoFinding a TPM module for my ASRock board is difficult, and I'm not going to upgrade my rig to get there. My board has a header for TPM - x399m - do I need to use an ASRock TPM module or can I just use any TPM module that is the same pinout? I'm embarrassed to say I just don't know. This document doesn't address any TPM conversation except how to turn it on if yours is disabled. Guess I'm sticking with 10!
- StephanTLavavej 5y agoModern processors have integrated “firmware” TPMs, so you shouldn’t need a discrete module. See https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2021/06/heres-what-youll-need-to-upgrade-to-windows-11/ https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2021/06/heres-what-youll-nee... for some details. I was able to enable mine in my BIOS. (I work for MS, but in Visual C++, not Windows, and I don’t speak for them.)
