Perhaps you should expand your definition of what 'unsupported hack' means instead of taking it as an insult. I support the work of anyone who gets Linux running on any hardware, I condemn the difficulty in which Apple unnecessarily restricts people from doing what they want with the hardware they own. It is an unsupported hack because Apple doesn't provide means (such as documentation or code) for people to run what they want. So anything you can do will always end up being a method that Apple may decide to close up with later software updates and everything has to be reverse engineered from scratch. Contrast this with AMD and Intel code in the Linux Kernel contributed by those companies themselves and being able to just boot from USB using a user accessible BIOS/UEFI loader. It's Apple's restrictions that make this necessary to be a hack.
