Ask HN: Did Facebook delete a lot of evidence yesterday during 'the outage'?
Serious question.
- th31DAG 5y agoI thought this as well and it seems plausible. Another idea was brought up that it was a 'let the world know' what life without the social media giant's monopolistic apps would be like. Thus, theoretically helping slow down, the "delete Facebook" movement, that has no doubt gained ground again now that they are being called out for their illegal and immoral activities.
- garbagecoder 5y agoI want to belive.
- verzak 5y agoInternal sabotage. Lot of people inside want to burn the place down.
- rblion 5y agoI believe you. How do you know this? I bet many stay because the money is really good.
- imbnwa 5y agoI was gonna ask "why would you need an outage for that?" until I remembered stories that people's keycards and internal networking were all down too. Interesting, is there some internal logging that would be down as well? But data deletion is detectable in other ways no?
