As horrifying as this is, I almost struggle to be sympathetic because I cannot understand why he let this guy inflict all this on him. I know it's partially a reflection on why, but having read it I'm still at something of a loss. I would have either punched him or quit by about 20% into this story. Maybe he has the same anger I tend to get but better impulse control and tried to channel it into some subconscious revenge plot? Don't do that. Life's too short.
