Microsoft: Extremely slow performance when processing virtual terminal sequences
- siproprio 5y agoIt's the usual Microsoft software quality.
- gvb 5y agoApparently not just Microsoft. Quoting from TFA <https://github.com/microsoft/terminal/issues/10362#issuecomment-856696882 https://github.com/microsoft/terminal/issues/10362#issuecomm...> skyline75489 commented on Jun 8 Here’s something interesting. I tried to port the benchmark to Linux and I’m seeing a even larger performance gap between colored and non-colored text on Linux (roughly 60x - 80x). The overall rendering performance is better on Windows, of course.

He showcases it here. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=hxM8QmyZXtg https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=hxM8QmyZXtg I watched it months ago, but from memory, I believe: - it has better Unicode/layout support than windows-terminal - it renders as fast as promised - it has a tiny code base
