Saving you a click: No solutions are presented; it's just a list of obvious problems, and "maybe it will sort itself out somehow". Followed and preceded by a pitch for the interviewee's new book, of course.
- dredmorbius 5y agoSometimes advocating for problem awareness is useful in itself, especially when the loudest and most influential voices are incessently proclaiming "no fire!" in the burning theatre. As is pointing out evidence, etiology, and some proposed goals and/or redress modalities which do not in fact appear to be working. https://old.reddit.com/r/dredmorbius/comments/2fsr0g/hierarchy_of_failures_in_problem_resolution/ https://old.reddit.com/r/dredmorbius/comments/2fsr0g/hierarc...
- an_ko 5y agoI agree. My complaint was that the title is clickbait. It promises a solution ("and what can turn it around"), which the content doesn't deliver.
- dredmorbius 5y agoThat's a gripe with the CBC / Ideas, not Potter. Listening to the full interview (the webpage text is a very condensed version) makes quite clear that Potter himself really doesn't have any facile answers. Or possibly any at all.
