Actual healthcare providers are likely contracted companies and/or workers, and not direct employee hires. Moreso for physicians and mid-levels, but sometimes nurses and techs, as well. (Although idk about the subject of this story, specifically.) Primarily educational institutions and 100% public hospitals are keeping physicians directly employed, and even some of them are now going the contract route.
