Teenagers are totally aware of sex, and very interested in it. They are also totally aware of gender issues. If parents try to sweep these things under the rug, then teens will get their information from the internet and their peers.
Providing factual and unbiased information is the job of a library. As long as there are reasonable age-related limits in place, it is counterproductive to withhold sexual information from teens. That's how you get unwanted pregnancies, STDs, and other sex-related problems.
- LinuxBender 5y agoI agree with everything you said. Unfortunately the folks here are stuck in a much older time and you would not be able to change their minds. There are enough churches and temples in the town near me to hold the entire town's population at once. Most places are closed on Sunday. The younger generations will eventually change things as more folks come out, but it will be a very slow change.

- LinuxBender 5y agoI sincerely hope you are right and that all the elder folks I have met are just putting on an act to fit in.
