I'm wondering if it could be kind of adaptation against air (and smell) pollution in cities - when I spend my holidays far in the mountains I have less of such problem and better sense of smell than anyone else, then about installing air purifier or using anti-pollution mask non-stop for some time to prove it.
I'm vegetarian and I may have a deficit of bromelain (which is an enzyme which makes the mucus less thick) too.
