The Parks service needs to find a way to start fining/banning people for exceeding a threshold of distance from these animals. This woman did this so she can tell her friends she got right up to a 700-pound bull elk and "had a moment". Maybe the Parks service should make it compulsory to show people footage of these animals ripping shit to shreds cause apparently mere verbal warnings are not enough and this woman could've had the bull coming after the group. The way people approach reality as if it were a mere stage for their petty psychodrama and social currency is astonishing. But this article makes me concerned about eventual poaching in national parks and reserves (if that already doesn't happen) once ecosystems in Indonesia and East Africa are completely torn apart.
