why excel and not pandas?

  IMO it depends on the expertise, comfort level, and many other factors since it is a personal tool. I'm comfortable with programming languages, but I rarely write a Ruby code to process a CSV file. I still prefer using spreadsheet or SQL for simpler tasks. Panda/Python is the most powerful option for sure, but it's hard to say whether a person would prefer this option.

  not trolling but a genuine question: can it be because SQL is more performant than using pandas?
