Network with Potential FAANG Cofounders
- founderericliu 5y agoI'm looking for great cofounders with similar backgrounds, working styles, and strong leadership/technical expertise. The general advice is to build relationships in college + at work, but that hasn't been enough for me from a top of funnel perspective. I have tried YC Startup School Cofounder Matching, YMMV, as there are no requirements (other than a filled out profile) for anyone to post. Being a cofounder should be open to anyone in the world, for sure! I put together Bye OKRs to help connect FAANG folks, hoping to open it in the future. Lmk your thoughts!
- TechBro8615 5y agoYour comment says: > Being a cofounder should be open to anyone in the world But your website says: > You must have at least 1 year of FAANG experience. BTW, in my experience FAANG employees don't make great founders other than having an ability to attract VC funding. The qualities that big companies select for in employees are mostly distinct from the qualities necessary to start a business.
- founderericliu 5y agoYeah, that's unclear. Some folks go to FAANG with an idea of finding a future cofounder, but the reality is that requires constant effort to network. Bye OKRs streamlines that. FAANG-ers aren't the best founders. Those are probably the serial entrepreneurs with multiple exits. I was trying to keep it small for a trial, but maybe the feedback is to open it wider.
