- tosstoyevsky 5y agoIt would ‘avert’ the default like another bottle will ‘avert’ a hangover ie delay and make much worse.
- h2odragon 5y agoPeople who were upset about the existence of the Federal Reserve used to advocate something like this as part of a plan to destroy the fed and put the money supply "back into the hands of the Treasury." Yesterday's advocates would probably be repelled by today's arguments in favor of the idea; today's advocates would be repelled (and might be dissuaded!)by the identities and other philosophies of the people arguing for it then.
