What are the main challenges technology and logistics wise in supply chain? Presumably, at every point in the supply chain if you tag your inputs and outputs properly then isn't JIT obvious?

That is assuming you handle your own distribution, or your distributors are willing to supply or let you have access to those Data. Vendors are increasingly demanding those Data so they can better predict sales for capacity planning. For distributors they are worry of vendors taking those Data and setting up their own base for their own distribution. Things gets complicated if you have sole distribution right within a region or other politics and power that gets in the way.
