- rektide 5y agoStrong agreement. Diversity is integral to resilience. And often required to avoid slightly-less-dangerous but still not good stagnation. This article seems to focus on software. But this applies to the entire globalizing economy. Consolidation has been the name of the game: bigger and bigger companies eating more and more upstarts, fewer and fewer bigger and bigger players. We are ossifying into place, the mechanisms of capital are settling into a psuedo-stable alignment that has very few capabilities to adapt, change, try again, explore, outside what the massive players are willing to try.
