While your specific example is a terrible idea, the overall thought makes sense.
Maybe limit autopilot so that for every mile, or hour spent on autopilot you have to drive an hour manually? Make it random?
Also stop calling it autopilot because it implies self driving capabilities that are not yet fully baked.
- Geee 5y agoYeah, that was kind of tongue in cheek, but I feel it should randomly scare you to actually be effective. It's probably a good idea if you had to drive manually for a few minutes randomly, but the switch should happen quite suddenly so that you need to be paying attention constantly.
