There are huge sources of waste plastic, credit cards are not one of them. Just shopping at a supermarket once I generate more plastic waste than all my credit cards in a year. This would be the last thing I'd consider to lower the plastic waste issue and ironically its one that has already solved itself by NFC based payments.
