Oh well. Pilots are a career path dominated by seniority, and if someone doesn't care enough about others to get vaccinated, let someone in the wings hoping for a better route/better airline have their spot.
- walterbell 5y agoShould we replace already-immune, veteran nurses, doctors and pilots with inexperienced, vaccinated-but-not-immune substitute workers? https://www.tabletmag.com/sections/news/articles/plague-poor-gutentag https://www.tabletmag.com/sections/news/articles/plague-poor... > During lockdowns, essential and frontline workers bore the brunt of COVID-19 cases while affluent professionals stayed home, teleworked, and ordered delivery. These workers were once called “heroes.” Now the Zoom class labels the same workers “anti-vaxxers” if they prefer to rely on the natural immunity many of them have already acquired from previous infections.
- Gibbon1 5y agoI know you want to think those people are hard core anti-vaxers like yourself. But the reality is most of them of low grade malingerers who will cave when confronted.
- walterbell 5y agoIf the goal is ending disease, all that matters is sterilizing immunity, currently available to those who have recovered from Covid, and currently unavailable from any Covid-19 vaccine. As described on the CDC website, vaccines offer protection from serious disease/death, not prevention of infection or transmission. Fortunately, the human immune system doesn't have an opinion ("low grade malingerers") on the social class of the human. But then again, the human immune system isn't attempting to restructure society. Good luck to the social engineers!
