My understanding is that it is practically impossible to launch a health insurance company today, even with Google's budget, because the laws are so complex and impossible to digest that there is no way to sign up customers at a worthwhile rate.
- deadmutex 5y agoI thought most big companies self-insured. So, does that make them insurance companies? Hmm, I guess you still have "insurance" at big companies, and they negotiate rates... so maybe the large insurance companies are still involved in a significant way.
