I don’t personally have use experience of Quip, but from engineers I know who work there, fine-grained locking is how Quip handles collaboration.
- jitl 5y agoThe locking in Quip is like a UI concern - it's not a guarantee, and I don't know how (or if) Quip handles concurrent offline edits. As a user of Quip (while at Airbnb) I was pretty frustrated by the lock UI, although it improved once they added the "steal this lock" button.
