Metal in Microwave Oven Is Not That Dangerous
- samstave 5y agoI will never forget in ~1984 or so we got our first microwave oven around Xmas that year.... My mom was making dinner and decided to do Baked Potatoes in the new microwave... 9-year-old-me was standing there watching the Potatoes cook... and there was all this awesome Blue Lightning Bolts coming from inside the microwave and dancing across the tin-foil encrusted potatoes that my mom was cooking in there... I was transfixed... and saying things like "WHOA! MOM YOU HAVE TO SEE THIS!" Huge mistake - as she ran over and put a stop to the light show and what I thought was epic cooking... (Also, I was convinced that the timer was a count-down on the microwave that counted down to the moment when it "nuked" the meal and cooked it in that final second...)
