- nahnahno 5y agoUnfortunately instead of focusing on the toxic culture, it opens with “”” But if this company’s culture and work environment are a template for the future Jeff Bezos envisions, we are headed in a direction that reflects the worst of the world we live in now … is mostly male and overwhelmingly white”. So instead of focusing on toxic behavior and culture she focuses on identity politics bait, and creates an ironically race-prejudiced and sexist article as a result. Blue Origins has major issues, but they are not, at their core because of gender and skin color. I truly hope we get past the reactionary racism and sexism of the woke movement.
- hall0ween 5y agoI could see your point until the next line in that quote: “One-hundred percent of the senior technical and program leaders are men.” Granted didn’t say white men. That said, I hear you in indentity-bait not being a great way to focus an argument.
- Cryptonic 5y agoWell nice try to reduce it on that. For me it read like the core is that employees are not treated with respect by Amazon management. The rest are just examples. Amazon is very well known for disrespecting employees, actually I was not so surprised about the article. The gender and race problems are just the sugar on top: White men that call female employees "baby doll" and face no consequences - is actually not even about gender, depending on the context it's a crime. What if she would call him "tiny Wiener" for fun. Would she keep her job? What does it have to do with woke? You know it's only a word to discredit people challenging the status-quo by speaking up against nature destruction and social problems. Like Nazi to discredit even justified nationalist thinking or Commie to discredit any non free market thinking.
