Why is Apple Maps saying “sawjootee” instead of “south”?
As in, “turn left onto sawjootee-west 4th street” instead of “turn left onto southwest 4th street”. Anyone else experiencing this?
- arthurcolle 5y agoThey are way too busy deprecating OS features to focus on actually adding/enhancing functionality. Maybe you are 'listening to the app wrong' ?
- kazinator 5y agoCould it just be reading an underlying misspelling in the data, as in "soujtwest"? A combination of transposing TH as HT due to timing disruption between the left and right hand, while mistyping the H as the adjacent J. There are plausible pronunciation attempts for "soujt" that a listener might phonetically transcribe as "sawjootee".
