Looks like the Ampere Altra Q32-17 exists basically as a development board so you can make sure your workload can be moved to the platform. I wonder how it compares to a 5950x... 16c/32t vs 32c/32t but the AMD is over 2x the clockspeed. I wonder how L3 & memory bandwidth compares.
It would be really nice if there was a system that could be built for around $2000 that could compile chromium & other massive applications in ~30 minutes.
