The article is paywalled. I just want to know why anyone would expect children to be on Facebook in the first place. Kids should not be on social media.

- eyeundersand 5y agoBypass Paywalls is a lifesaver: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/bypass-paywalls-clean/ https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/bypass-paywal... Also, I'm having a hard time swallowing the sensationalization of this title. Feel the one from the article is much better: "Facebook pressed to release research on how its platforms affect users". Text of original article: https://archive.is/tFzUR https://archive.is/tFzUR In my understanding, expecting Facebook to look out for your children's well-being is absurd and laughable. It's a corporation responsible for making money to its shareholders, and NOT responsible for improving society as a whole and certainly not responsible for raising your children. That said, I think FB is in the wrong here (like always, hence why I haven't been on the platform in more than 6 years).
- eigengrau5150 5y agoNobody under 18 should be on the internet, period.
- cowvin 5y agoYep, couldn't read the article due to paywall. In any case, corporations are entities obligated to seek profits for their shareholders. They are supposed to put profits ahead of children. This is why we need more regulations on corporations.
