Not official, and it only covers East Anglia, but I really like this site http://www.suffolkchurches.co.uk/churchlists.htm http://www.suffolkchurches.co.uk/churchlists.htm (and its sister sites covering Norfolk, Cambridgeshire, etc). It's just one person, who's visited churches and put up his photos and descriptions as, I think, a personal hobby site, but I really like the writing style. http://www.suffolkchurches.co.uk/Blythburgh.htm http://www.suffolkchurches.co.uk/Blythburgh.htm is probably a good example at the grander end of the scale, or at the other end http://www.suffolkchurches.co.uk/lwenham.htm http://www.suffolkchurches.co.uk/lwenham.htm which is a small out-of-the-way church near where I grew up, which has some surviving 13thC wall paintings.
