A decade of the Tim Cook machine
- themodelplumber 5y ago> Maybe these are the wrong questions. Maybe Apple can find and solve another huge problem For tech business right now IMO the huge problem is "staying power" and Cook has some of the best natural tools for staying. Anything that needs to stay, economically speaking, put a Cook or a Bezos in charge of it. This leads to a problem with wealth stockpiles but if you want to make long bets with your economy, you do that on the backs of the leaders who naturally stabilize and establish businesses to last millennia. Looking for dazzling new tech from these quarters is (again IMO) looking for the wrong way to be impressed by what they can do. Spitballing, I'd guess that the next true Apple-type company in terms of revolutionary presence in a revolutionary industry will come around in about 50 years.
