The big objection some of us have to those who idolize Trump is that he's only really successful at one thing - conning people.
He has people for decades, extracting opportunities (which are losses for the bankers, investors, and "students").
Or perhaps the other enormous objection is to hypocracy. He has promoted himself as a successful businessman, but he has a long trail of bankruptcies and settled lawsuits which prove otherwise. Maybe if one's view of success is winning at any cost, bottom line only, then perhaps he is successful.
There are calculating, successful, evil madmen. And then there are adult children who start with a million dollar loan (and still fail).
To top it all off, he has promoted or accepted strongly anti-immigrant policies, while his grandfather was an immigrant. If his grandfather had not been allowed into the US, he might well have not existed.
Follow a successful tyrant, or follow a successful hero. But do not follow a charlatan.

"Because Trump's grandfather immigrated to the US, that means present-day immigration is good for the current citizens of the US"? There should also be a huge asterisk next to "promoted or accepted strongly anti-immigrant policies", since none of those policies registered as even a blip in yearly legal immigration: https://www.dhs.gov/immigration-statistics/yearbook/2019/table1 https://www.dhs.gov/immigration-statistics/yearbook/2019/tab...

If you dig a bit, you will find evidence that he viewed non-white people as inferior. In fact, if you dig a bit, you will find that he viewed most people, color or nationality, as inferior. To believe otherwise is willful ignorance.
