No state income tax is pretty awesome too.
- rsj_hn 5y agoGood point, but AZ has an income tax and so does Utah. Besides, no income tax and you pay more in property taxes so it's more about the spending per capita rather than the source of income when it comes to estimating the tax burden. I do have to say that higher property taxes reduce bubbles, though, so there is that.
- arthurcolle 5y agoYeah I'm moving to Miami next week from a DC suburb and the no state income tax is not even a secondary or tertiary reason behind the decision. Reasonable crypto-asset support from the local government, the sun + plenty of fun things to do are primary drivers. The extra 400 bucks a pay period (maybe its per month, can't recall right now) is just an additional plus. I don't plan on owning real estate over the next year or two, going to rent and enjoy the sun. Really loving that I work at a company with progressive remote work policies.
