A 23.7M dollar Ethereum transaction fee post mortem
- PragmaticPulp 5y agoInteresting that they got in touch with the miner by tracing their transaction history and having their preferred exchange look up their account. The blog post suggests that the miner voluntarily returned the funds, but I do wonder if there were hints of legal or other pressure after they managed to identify the miner. > Combine this with the fact that Ledger hardware wallets may sometimes display fees in a non-human readable manner, could have removed a key human safety check This seems like a huge issue, especially given the fact that it led to someone sending a transaction with a $24 million fee without apparently being to see the fee before hitting send.
