- mytailorisrich 5y agoThere is plenty of fuel available. The issue is that there is a shortage of truck drivers, which causes slight issues with supplying petrol stations. This was made public in a very bad way, which caused panic buying and now virtually all petrol stations have run out and closed. So now there is a big problem with re-supplying the country's petrol stations... Now, people were a bit on edge because the drivers shortage was already felt in supermarkets, where people can see items out of stock and the media keep talking about issues over Christmas. The spike in gas prices has also recently caused several domestic energy suppliers to collapse (including mine, actually). All of which has been headline news. So as soon as 'shortage' and 'petrol stations' were mentioned in the same sentence people went ballistic. I have a quarter tank left but luckily I still WFH so don't need my car much, which is good because all the petrol stations in my area are now closed.
