I had achieved a nice middle class life and faced a setback that left me homeless 18 months before pandemic began. Hard worker from ages 14 to 32ish when pandemic hit, even crawling back up from homelessness with labor and service jobs.
Now I’ve been forced into an abusive situation that seems terminal. The working class where I come from love to abuse me and refuse to understand how hard I’ve worked in last decades, and the wealthy who I used to be close with largely dismiss me as irrelevant or mentally ill. Due to legal problems created while in my vulnerable state I can’t even expect to pass a background check and get work.
Not so much about me, but I just know I’m far from alone in sinking into terrible circumstances. I anticipate a sharp rise in domestic violence and similar boil overs as winter closes in and the ability to retreat is compromised (mouse bites cat only when cornered).
