Permanently disabling FaceID is a feature, not a bug. FaceID (and the inability to really turn it off) are the reason that I will leave Apple behind when I finally have to replace my current pre-FaceID iPhone.

What do you mean the inability to really turn it off? I don't even have my face registered and just use a passcode for everything.
